Farewell

6/9/2020

Dear Workroom Members,

It is with a great deal sadness and regret that I write this letter.   Undoubtedly, this email is among the hardest of the many sad steps that we have had to take over these past three months.

In early to mid-March, like so many others, we were forced to close our business operations at Little Graces Playgroup as a result of the Covid crisis.  We were forced to make thoughtful and quick decisions based upon best available government and medical guidance  to provide for the safety of our friends, clients, co-workers, and staff.  We spent days reading, calling, emailing, researching and applying for assistance so that we could make the best decisions to keep our businesses stable and secure.

As the crisis continued, we sought to envision and accordingly examined scenarios for potentially reopening all or part of our businesses.  Regrettably, we realized that the Covid virus will last for the foreseeable future and that the health and financial risks would linger notwithstanding the fact that the Federal and DC government allowed some businesses to re-open.  For us, no viable safe and secure plan could be implemented until there was an acceptable vaccine or effective treatment for Covid.
For the foregoing reasons, we have made the difficult decision to close Little Graces Playgroup and The Workroom Cooperative effective immediately.
We plan to use this time to actively improve our playgroup program and adopt our business model to the new norm.   We have hope for the future and will reach out to our playgroup community when the time is right.

As for the Workroom Cooperative, this aspect of our business will be permanently closed.   This June 18th marks The Workroom Cooperative’s two-year anniversary, which means that two years ago I was just wrapping up many months of preparations for this new community space. Since opening, so many things have gone well for this little venture. The people I have gotten to know and the successes we’ve celebrated together have been worth every hour of work put into this project. The community we have built has been a great source of happiness and pride, and I want to sincerely thank each one of you for being a part of it with me.

Thank you for all of your support over the years.   We wish you safety, prosperity and good health during this difficult time and we look forward to seeing you on the other side.

Sincerely,
Sharon

What Our Clients Are Saying

I joined the Workroom because of the child-care options and because the space was both professional and gorgeous. I have a quiet place to meet with clients and I enjoy the art-filled atmosphere. An added bonus is that I have enjoyed getting to know my fellow workers, AND it has been amazing for networking.  I've gotten several clients through the Workroom.
